Associate Professor Chotirmall is an internationally recognized clinician-scientist with an established translational respiratory research group at the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, NTU Singapore. To date, he has performed key work on endo-phenotyping pulmonary infection, including the use of next generation sequencing approaches, in the context of chronic inflammatory respiratory diseases that have led to >165 publications including in Nature Medicine, Cell Host and Microbe, the New England Journal of Medicine (NEJM), the Lancet Respiratory Medicine, the American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine (AJRCCM) and the European Respiratory Journal (ERJ). He has been appointed Provost’s Chair in Molecular Medicine at NTU Singapore and serves as part of the senior leadership team at the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine. He has been conferred as fellow of the Royal College of Physicians in Ireland (FRCPI), Fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians (FCCP) and fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of the United Kingdom (FRCP UK) (London). He is a current Deputy Editor at the American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine (AJRCCM) (IF: 24.7), the youngest such appointment and the first from Asia in the journal's 100+ year history.
